Professional golfer and social media personality Paige Spiranac has opened up about the nude photo scandal that rocked her career.
Spiranac began her professional career as a golfer back in 2015 after making a name for herself as a college standout athlete, winning All-Mountain West Conference honours during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons.
Outside of the golf course, Spiranac has become a social media personality with over 2 million followers on Instagram.
But since 2016, the 26-year-old has been plagued with negative thoughts surrounding the unfortunate effect of an explicit photo scandal.
Speaking on her new podcast 'Playing-A-Round,' Spiranac revealed she sent photos to a man she was dating, which led to her followers on her social media to start asking questions when it became obvious the person she sent it to had forwarded on to his friends.
"It was horrible," Spiranac said.
"Just getting these random messages from people you don't know and they've seen you in such a vulnerable way. It was disgusting."
An emotional Spiranac was on full display during her podcast when she revealed the troubling response she received from the person who shared the explicit photos.

"He said, 'You deserve this'."
"I would wake up every single day, I would check my phone and be like, 'Am I going to be on TMZ today?
"That was the worst part. I was constantly stressed out that someone was going to see it and someone was going to get it and that it was going to get out."
Making matters worse, a fan shortly after the incident occurred, approached the golfer with a request to sign a copy of the explicit photo at a celebrity golfing event.
"I can never escape this picture, It's always there," Spiranac said.
"These little things kept happening where I was like, 'OK, I think I'm over it'. Maybe a month will pass then it gets brought up again. And it gets brought up again, and brought up again and it keeps also reminding me of this guy and what he did to me and all of this trauma.
"Every life event was also tied into that, which was super traumatic for me."
Spiranac's battle with trolls dates back to 2016 when she broke down in the middle of a press conference.
She revealed the mental toll that had come as a result of constant online threats that more photos would be shared.
"I think it's really important…people need to see how much it actually does affect me, and the things they call me," Spiranac said in 2016.
