According to ‘TheGamingRevolution’ and ‘Okami’, a potential release date for at least two Call of Duty video games. They divulged that fans may not have to wait for too long to get their hands on the Remastered games.
Both TheGamingRevolution and Okami are trusted sourced for any Call of Duty information. In fact, the pair correctly predicted the release of Modern Warfare’s battle royale mode, Warzone.
Now, the duo have reason to believe that the 2020 release of Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 are in the works. Okami kickstarted the rumour mill, after Tweeting that MW2R is nearly ready for a 2020 release.
Meanwhile, TheGamingRevolution claimed that Activision is working on MW2R release. However, Okami revealed that Infinity Ward will take some of the fan-favored classic maps and rework them.
A few days ago, Okami left a cryptic message, simply stating: “March 30”, likely indicating something big happening on that day. Since then, TheGamingRevolution provided some context. He Tweeted that Activision is releasing a campaign-only remaster of MW2.
With a bundle of MW2R artwork and cosmetics slipping through the cracks merely the day before TheGamingRevolution Tweeted the alleged release date, all of the stars seem to be aligning for Infinity Ward to push MW2 campaign live.
While the pair have been incredibly accurate with their leaks in the past, nothing is set in stone. At least until Activision release official confirmation. Stay tuned as more looks set to unfold on MW2R release in the coming days.
Is this the only Call of Duty leak?
Meanwhile, ‘TheGamingRevolution’ confirmed development of Modern Warfare 3 Remastered. However, he remained silent on an exact date, since he did not know it either.
“MW3 Remastered has been getting worked on for a while now too,” he revealed. “I wonder how/when that’s going to drop,” he added, suggesting that he has no idea if the game will come out during the lifespan of the current CoD title.
It’s also unclear if this will just be the campaign or a multiplayer experience. According to Dexerto, dataminers found CoD MW2 artwork and cosmetics within Modern Warfare’s files.
That said, while the leak was only for a campaign, it seems like some classic maps will be given an upgrade for rotation in the newest Modern Warfare title.
Back in 2016, Activision published a Remastered version of the original Modern Warfare. That title included the campaign alongside the multiplayer, and had a physical release.
It’s possible that MW 3 Remastered is packaged as DLC in the next Call of Duty game. However, at this point, we may need to see how the MW 2 Remaster is handled first.
