NBA Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Reveals Which Current NBA Player He Relates to the Most

NBA’s former star player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has a legacy attached with his name, with 20 good seasons in the league. The six-time NBA Most Valuable Player recently revealed that he related to none other than Anthony Davis, minus a few skill sets.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar relates to Anthony Davis

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is regarded as one of the all-time stars of basketball in the NBA. The feathers in his hat include six NBA titles, a record six Most Valuable Player awards and 19 All-Star selections (another all-time record). He is also the all-time leader in points with 38,387.

The 72-year-old veteran recently asked fans to send him questions before his Milwaukee Bucks debut. A fan asked him who in today’s game most emulates his playing style. He responded with a comparison to the Los Angeles Lakers forward, Anthony Davis.

Jabbar highlighted that other than the good number of 3 pointers Davis makes, they were both similar in their game.

Abdul-Jabbar first attracted national attention with his dominance at Power Memorial Academy in New York City. Later, he proved his worth at the University of California in Los Angeles.

The Milwaukee Bucks, who entered the NBA in 1968, drafted him a year later. Abdul-Jabbar, who was known as Lew Alcindor at the time, led the Bucks to an NBA championship in their third year of existence.

Is Davis’ game really like Abdul-Jabbar?

Currently, Anthony Davis does not have Abdul-Jabbar’s great post-game, let alone his famed skyhook. However, Davis’ overall production isn’t far from the league’s all-time lead scorer.

If and when the NBA season resumes, Davis can take the first step towards reaching Abdul-Jabbar’s elevated status by helping to lead the Purple and Gold towards an NBA title. The 27-years-old player is still cementing his way towards becoming a great big man. Since his days with the New Orleans Pelicans, there hasn’t been a single doubt on Davis’ abundance of talents.

The 6-foot-10 high man can play back to the basket, as well as unleash some dribbling moves along with smooth jump shots. The Lakers’ center was on his way to get the Defensive Player of the Year award in his bag before the 2019-20 season suspension.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s statement will surely bring some pressure on Davis’ shoulders. However, he seems like he can take it on well.
