Mayweather's $911M McGregor-Khabib package

Floyd Mayweather says he would accept no less than $911 million to make a sensational return to professional boxing and fight Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov by year's end.

The world's greatest pound-for-pound boxer hasn't set foot in the ring since defeating McGregor in 2017 when he reportedly pocketed $580 million from the at times ludicrous cross-over bout.

Since fading from the fore, Mayweather has relentlessly attempted to keep himself relevant, chirping himself up and social media and tacking on to the latest headlines in the combat world.

In 2020, it's been much of the same with Mayweather claiming Deontay Wilder could have beat Tyson Fury if he was training him, and now fanning the flames of another moonlight with the UFC.

Earlier this year Mayweather teased a sequel fight with McGregor to comeback out of retirement if the money was right.

There have also been whispers that UFC lightweight champion Khabib is eager to test his mettle against the undefeated boxer, but under the proviso they have one round of MMA rules.

Commenting on speculation regarding his return, The Mirror reports that Mayweather insisted the money would have to be wroth his while to strap up one more time.

"Like we (him and UFC president Dana White) talked about on social media, there's two names right now.

Mayweather and Nurmagomedov

"We talked about the Conor McGregor fight, we talked about the Khabib fight.

"For myself, the number is $600m ($911m AUD). If I'm going to go out there and risk it, it'd have to be worth it."

The astronomical ballpark figure comes amid claims that Mayweather is, in fact, broke.

The assertion came from one-time friend turned rival, rapper 50 Cent(Curtis Jackson), who claims the 43-year-old had burnt through his amassed fortune.

"I think he got to (fight McGregor) right now because the money's gone," Jackson said last month.

"It's fight, get the money, spend the money, fight. With the lifestyle that money's gone. Trust me."

Mayweather branded his fight against McGregor as a "business move", with their blockbuster bout falling just 300,000 viewers short of breaking the pay-per-view world record.

Addressing their encounter, he added: "That was a business move. In the boxing world as of right now, it doesn't make sense for me to fight any ordinary fighter.

"I'm a business man. The Conor McGregor fight made sense. If it makes money, it makes sense.

US boxer Floyd Mayweather topped the Forbes rankings of the world’s top 100 earning athletes after earning US$275m ($361m) for his match in August against UFC star Conor McGregor, who claimed fourth position on the rankings (Lionel Hahn/PA Wire).

"I don't fight fighters or compete against competitors that only have cities behind them. If I'm going to fight you, you have to have a whole country behind you.

"The first fight was entertaining. It's an entertainment business."
