Indian Wells 2020 To Provide All Tournament Facilities to Players Despite its Cancelation

With the Riverside County Public Health Department declaring an emergency after the confirmation of a single coronavirus case locally, the first masters event of the year Indian Wells 2020 got canceled.

Following that, BNP Paribas Open 2020 is considering to remunerate the qualifying and main draw players in the singles and doubles domain. According to the reports, all players are expected to receive the prize money amount for the first round i.e., US $18,155.

It would support their travel expenses. Also, they will get a complimentary accommodation in Indian Wells, California for a week. The players can access the Indian Wells Tennis Garden to practice for the next few days. Also, other services required will be available to all the participants.

The tournament in Florida, Miami Open 2020 might as well be annulled due to the global coronavirus outbreak. Recently, Florida health officials released their statement. They have recommended the International travelers to remain in quarantine for two weeks upon their return (as stated by Tampa Bay Times).

With the local health ministries laying down their protocols to control the COVID-19 pandemic, the commencement of the tennis tournaments scheduled for the next few weeks (in the US and Europe) seems to be hanging.
