“I Talked to the President Of USA Today”- Dana White Not Taking Things Lightly

Dana White is determined to overcome any hurdle that comes in his way of conducting UFC events. While sports events across the globe stand canceled due to the Coronavirus, White has stated time and again that he will do everything he can to ensure the safety of those involved in his events, but will not cancel them.

In his most recent interview with Sports Center, Dana reiterated that the UFC will take all possible measures to ensure a safe and hassle-free event. He said,

“We’ve talked to everybody about this. We’ve reached out to most fighters. And they’re ready to go They wanna fight, and we are going to do everything to keep them safe. .This just isn’t now because of the coronavirus that we’re gonna do extra health and safety. We always go overboard. In the over 25 years that the UFC has been around, there has never been a death or serious injury. Think about that.”

UFC President spoke to Donald Trump regarding the upcoming events

Continuing with the interview, “I always go overboard with safety. And that’s what we’re gonna do here. I talked to the President(Donald Trump) and Vice President(Mike Spence) of the United States today. And they’re taking this very serious(ly). They’re saying, ‘be cautious, be careful but live your life and stop panicking’.”

Dana White does make a valid point. In perhaps the most violent sport in the world, having a clean chit on serious injuries is extremely commendable.

Yet, the coronavirus is unlike anything that sports organizations have had to encounter in years. After all, even the NBA and various football leagues hold the capacity to boost up safety precautions. But the sheer enormity of the pandemic has caused them to put all operations on hold.

And how can we forget, the UFC is a fighter’s sport. It is the mentality of a fighting warrior to meet all challenges unabashed. And Dana White is proceeding exactly like the general of unmovable warriors.

“UFC London will proceed as planned”- Dana White

While UFC Columbus had to be shifted to UFC Apex facility due to government regulations, Dana White seems to be confident that UFC London will go as planned.

He said that the UFC is constantly working with doctors, hospitals, and governments to ideate how safe events can continue to take place.

Some of the ideas brought up include minimizing the crowd in the place of the event, until such time that the existing conditions prevail. Including the indisposable staff members, the maximum headcount will not cross 100. his model of the event will take place at UFC Brasilia.

Also, the UFC will be incorporating infrared technology to measure the temperature of anyone who enters the arena. If someone with even a slightly higher-than-normal body temperature walks through the doors, the person will be tested immediately.

Thus, it seems that Dana White and UFC are employing the best possible strategies to make their events come to life in a safe and sound environment.

This also comes as a huge bonus for the fans, as 2020 promises to be a thrilling and action-packed season for the UFC. With the return of Conor McGregor, Stipe Miocic and some of the biggest fixtures like Khabib vs. Tony coming up, it will be unbearable for the fans to miss out.

Khabib Nurmagomedov

Therefore, the efforts being made by the organization come as a boon for the UFC Universe.

Do you think the UFC will be successful in its endeavors to battle the pandemic and conduct events smoothly?
