“He Had His Own Issues”- Anthony Joshua Lauds Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, following the fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, refused to make any comments. With Wilder suffering the first defeat of his career. The fight between the two saw the former claim the WBC belt.

AJ chose to let the fighters have their time in and outside the ring. Joshua finally opened up gave a detailed description of his thoughts regarding the fight. Fury was celebrated for such a dominant display over the Bronze Bomber.

Previously calling them “Gladiators”. Joshua admired the talents of both the fighters in the interview. He feels that Wilder walked into the ring thinking the fight would end with an easy win in his favor. Based on Fury’s troubles outside the ring and his long time off from the sport.

“I think that maybe Wilder thought it would’ve been an easier fight because Fury had a long layoff, he had his own issues outside of the ring and stuff like that.”- Anthony Joshua

“But I think he was mentally right. They were both physically conditioned for the fight, but sometimes when you’ve been at a rock bottom where Fury was, the only way is up.”- Anthony Joshua on Tyson Fury

AJ explains that once someone goes as low as Fury, the only way they can go is up. And he feels that the way Fury picked himself up worked wonders for the fighter. He believes Fury was at his “highest height” on that night. And it certainly paid off.

Joshua who is set to face Fury in a unification fight sometime later this year gives all the credit to Tyson Fury’s mental strength and resilience.

As of now, all the belts belong to the English. But that is subject to change as AJ takes on Kubrat Pulev. And Fury is looking to arrange a rematch with Wilder which will be their third match to settle the score once and for all.
