Last night was the third round of F1 Esports “Real Racers Never Quit” championship. The tournament is organized by Team Redline and runs on a two 10 lap race format.
Max Verstappen had won three out of four races in the first two rounds of the series. However, this time the battle intensified and he had to endure a couple of drivers in the fifth race of the championship.
With a major lead in the championship standings, Max Verstappen began the third round of the ‘Real Racers Never Quit’ title on Friday. Three of the initial four races held were ruled by the Dutchman yet this time he was bearing some savage rivalry from different drivers.
In the third round, drivers were running V8 Supercars on the virtual Watkins Glen circuit. This time Verstappen would surely not get the triumph simply like that. As it turned out during the qualifying, which he completed seventh, behind big names like Kelvin van der Linde, Daniel Juncadella and Lando Norris. Outstandingly, The main seven were inside 0.129 seconds of one another.
F1 Esports: Fight Between Lando Norris And Max Verstappen
Verstappen began the race well and figured out how to avoid inconvenience in the tumultuous opening lap. This tactic put him up to the fifth spot, where he experienced none other than his F1 college Lando Norris. Despite Max consistently pressing his Formula 1 mate, Norris didn’t surrender and rarely faced any problem.
A wonderful fight unfurled quickly between the two. However, Verstappen couldn’t keep the weight on the pot constantly. Thus giving Lando Norris enough room to repel his advances. Norris was able to hold his position while repelling attacks from his F1 rival and good friend Verstappen. And the duo eventually finished in fourth and fifth positions respectively.
After the virtual race Max said, “I was just too slow, I don’t know why yet, I am still learning a lot about the track.”
Verstappen’s closest championship rival Kelvin van der Linde took the victory. Following him was Shane van Gisbergen, a V8 Supercars racer in real life. And the podium was completed by DTM driver Daniel Juncadella.
